On the evening of March 31, 1999, four students of AMI's first Vocational
Training Programme in Desktop Publishing finally received their diplomas.
After a year of intensive training Tsewang Gonpo of Students Educational
and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL), Tashi Phuntsok of the Department
of Education, CTA, Dorjee Tsering of the Education Development and Resource
Centre (EDRC) of the Tibetan Children's Village, and Gyamtso of AMI completed
their course. |

Tashi Tsering gave the graduating students a talk on the importance of their
training and their future task of creating better quality books in Tibetan.
Jamyang Norbu awarded the diplomas and a set each of AMI publications. The
students in turn thanked their chief instructor Christophe Besuchet and
offered him khatags. At the conclusion of the modest ceremony a dinner was
hosted for the students, AMI staff and guests. |
