Launch of Two New AMI Publications

Professor Elliot Sperling and Ami director Tashi Tsering presided over the launch of two new Amnye Machen publications: Drang-srong bsti-gnas-kyi rmi-lam yun-cig, by Tenzin Choezin; and Mi-rabs gsar-pa'I snying-khams-kyi 'phar-lding, by Pema Bhum. This book launch was timed to coincide with an identical launch held on the same day in Dharamsala. The two books were particularly well-received in Bloomington, where they served to highlight the Amnye Machen Institute's firm commitment to increasing the visibility as well as intellectual and scholarly range of modern Tibetan writing.

 
    The two books were also released on 21st August at the AMI Audio Visual Room in Dharamshala by Department of Health Kalon Yangki Samkhar Dashi. Among the guests were the Prime Minister, Sonam Tobgyal, Kalon T.C. Tethong, and representative of the Tibetan media and other guests. Prior to the release, Mr. Lama Kyap, lecturer on Tibetan poetry at the Tibetan Dialectic Institute, gave a talk on the origins and current situation of modern Tibetan literature in Tibet,
